Oh …yes the food, the sizzling, steamy, spicy, food that you can find at every street & corner in Indonesia.
Every time I come back to Indonesia specially Jakarta there are a few hawkers food ( street food ) that I never miss out eating.
Here some of the pictures of the scrumptious street foods & snacks I have been eating in Jakarta from my last trip.
Cakwe is Chinese fried bread stick.
Soto Betawi, traditional beef soup from Jakarta.
Rujak is Jakarta style fruit salad with fresh Pineapple,Jambu (water apple), crunchy Jicama, Kedondong, sweet potato.
Serve with peanut sauce mix with brown sugar & chilli.
Lontong Sayur is rice cake serve with mix vegetable.
Asinan Sayur or Asinan Jakarta is mix vegetable such as cabbage, cucumber, beansprouts with brown sugar & peanut sauce
Popiah filled with Jicama, diced bean curd, crab meat & wrapped in fresh spring roll skin.
Curly noodle serve with wonton, chicken & bbq roast pork on top.
Siomay is an Indonesian steamed fish or pork dumpling.
Kue Pia is Chinese Pastry with sweet Bean Paste.
Roti Bakso is buns filled with chicken, beef or pork.
Puff Pastry filled with chicken curry.
These are not all, there are a lot more to taste in Indonesia.
