SAWO

Sawo this fruit has an exceptionally sweet & the smells fragrant.

Usually consumed the fruit in fresh condition.

The fruit normally 4-8 cm containing 2 to 5 seeds.

The seeds are shiny brown or blackish brown. The seeds should not be consumed because of hydrocyanic acid content, is high enough to be toxic.

The ripe fruit can be made into fresh drink or as a mixture of ice cream.

The unripe fruit is hard to touch & not good to eat when it is unripe, it’s bitter & has high amounts of Saponin. Saponin is any of various plant glucoside that form soapy lathers when mixed & agitated with water.

Inside its flesh ranges from a pale yellow to an earthy brown color.
