This is a simple vegetable dish with just a few ingredients.

1 tomato chopped
1/2 lb. green beans cut about 2 inches
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 tbsp tamarind pulp soaked in 1/2 cup water & strained for the juice,
1 tbsp cooking oil
2 Salam leaves
2 tablespoons cooking oil
3 shallots thin cut
2 garlic cloves minced
2 chili peppers
1/4 teaspoon terasi (shrimp paste)
Grind all the spices
Heat the oil in the frying pan or wok on medium heat.
Fry the spices at medium heat then add the Salam leaves. Cook until it smell fragrant.
Add the chopped tomato mix well.
Cook stirring constantly for about 2 minutes
Add the green beans & toss to coat in the oil Fry for about 2 – 3 minutes.
Stir in the sugar, salt & tamarind water to green beans, mix well.
Cook for 3 -4 minutes more until the green beans are crisp & tender, remove from heat.
